A Wedding Retreat in Beautiful BC

Blair and Faune’s wedding weekend took place in the heart of the Cascade Mountains of southern British Columbia at one of my favourite wedding venues to date!

One of the things that made this wedding so special was the fact that the couple wanted to create an experience for their guests that went beyond just the wedding day. Manning Park is just a short 3 hour drive from their home in Vancouver, and provided the perfect opportunity for everyone to come together for the entire weekend. With cozy cabins scattered throughout the property, family and friends were able to stay close by, making this celebration feel like a retreat in the mountains.

The Wedding Day: A Perfectly Styled Celebration

Saturday was the big day! The bride and her bridesmaids got ready in a gorgeous, spacious cabin on the property, complete with stunning views that kept everyone calm and relaxed. The cabin was the perfect backdrop for some intimate getting-ready photos, with natural light pouring in and a cozy, rustic vibe that set the tone for the entire day.

The First Look and Ceremony: Mountain Magic

The first look was held against a breathtaking backdrop of the towering mountains. The couple couldn’t have asked for a more dramatic and beautiful setting. Standing there, taking in the view, they shared a quiet moment before the day truly began. It was one of those moments that made you feel like time had slowed down, and all that mattered was the love they had for each other.

If there’s one thing you should know about this couple and their guests is that they were FUN! The bride wanted a first look with the groomsmen and capitalized on this opportunity by ‘icing’ them - it was fun and so true to the couple and set the tone for what was going to be a very fun day.

For the ceremony, we couldn’t have asked for a more stunning venue. They chose Lightning Lake for its serene beauty, offering both a peaceful and breathtaking spot for the vows to be exchanged. The lake shimmered in the sunlight, with the mountains standing proudly in the background. The emotional exchange of vows was a moment of pure love, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the crowd, including the officiant who played an important role in the couple's love story.

Wedding Reception in the Alpine Room Lodge: Where Rustic Meets Elegance

After the ceremony, it was time to celebrate in style. The reception was held in the Alpine Room Lodge, a rustic yet elegant space that perfectly fit the couple’s vision. The lodge was adorned with elegant wood accents, vaulted ceiling, and budding florals. The mountain charm of the room made it feel like a cozy, welcoming space where everyone could come together and celebrate.

The night kicked off with a delicious meal that featured locally sourced ingredients and a variety of options that left guests raving. The drinks flowed, the music played, and the dancing began! The guests really let loose and enjoyed themselves, showing off their best dance moves to a playlist that had everyone up on their feet.

As the night wore on, the energy was contagious, and it was clear that everyone was having the time of their lives. The best part? After all the fun, everyone simply had to walk back to their cabins, ensuring a safe and easy end to the night. No need for taxis or long drives—just a short stroll back to the cozy cabins where guests could relax and reflect on an unforgettable night.

Manning Park proved to be the ideal location for this wedding weekend, and it’s no surprise that the couple and their guests are already talking about how they’ll cherish the memories of this magical celebration for years to come. It was a weekend of joy, laughter, and love, and I feel so lucky to have been a part of it all. Here's to many more unforgettable weddings in the mountains!
